One man approached a 27-year-old man walking on Maxwell Street early Thursday, and shot him in the back of the head, according to Lexington police.
The victim was walking with a woman at 2:49 a.m. when the man approached the two from behind, Lt. Brad Ingram said. The shooting occurred in front of 321 East Maxwell Street.
A previous statement said that three suspects approached the victim but, at a media conference Thursday afternoon, police revised the number to one.
The suspect, described as a young male, ran down Linden Walk toward Euclid Avenue, Ingram said.
