Police arrest 1 of 2 wanted in slayings of Georgetown man, Stanton woman

One of two men wanted in the killings of a Stanton woman and a Georgetown man after a fight at a cabin was apprehended by Kentucky State Police.

Eugene Edward Wade Jr., 28, of Shelbyville was arrested by troopers from the Dry Ridge post about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. Wade was taken to Mount Sterling and then was booked into the Three Forks Regional Jail in Beattyville, police said Thursday.

The search continues for Devante L. Hall, 24, of Dayton, Ohio, who is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on Hall is urged to call state police at 606-784-4127 or local police.

Police found the body of Brandy Davidson, 25, Saturday outside of a cabin off Ky. 11 in Wolfe County while investigating the slaying of Devin J. Payton, 33, of Georgetown. He was reportedly found Saturday by a fisherman under the Slate Creek Bridge near Bedford Road in Montgomery County

Talmadge Branham, 25, of Jeffersonville, and Carla Hunt, 31, of Salt Lick have been charged with tampering with evidence.

The pair are accused of washing blood out of a rental car that was used to move Payton’s body from Wolfe County to Montgomery County. WKYT reported that he was shot after getting into a fight at the cabin, where Branham and Hunt were with him and two other men.

WKYT reported that Branham and Hunt are accused of taking the other two men to Lexington and cleaning the car in Winchester before returning it to Enterprise in Mount Sterling.
