Man shot while walking near Versailles Road

A man was shot while he was walking early Monday, according to Lexington police.

The shooting, on Cambridge Drive near Versailles Road, was reported about 4 a.m.

The victim told police he was walking along the street when a woman and man began yelling at him.

The attackers punched the man in the face and shot him in his right leg, Lt. Jeremy Tuttle said. The victim told police he knew his attackers but not their names.

Tuttle said the victim was treated at a hospital, and his injuries aren’t life-threatening.
