A man wanted by Lexington police in the robbery of a Red Roof Inn in February has been arrested after turning himself in Wednesday night, police said.

Aaron Brinegar, 30, is charged with robbery after his brother called police to tell them Brinegar had robbed the hotel on Wilhite Drive and wished to turn himself in.

After being interviewed by detectives, Brinegar was booked into the Fayette County jail around 4 p.m. Thursday.

The knifepoint robbery of the Red Roof Inn on Feb. 21 was featured as a crime of the week and security camera footage was circulated after Bluegrass Crime Stoppers offered a $1,000 reward for information on the crime.
