Lexington man stabbed during dispute between daughter, another girl

One man is in the hospital after his daughter got into a fight with another girl Friday evening.

Lexington Police Lt. Jackie Newman said two girls, who are neighbors, were fighting in the 3500 block of Honey Jay Court around 7:30 p.m. One of the girls’ mother and the parents of the other girl went outside as the girls were fighting.

Newman said the parents then began beating the mother, who sustained several minor injuries. The injured woman’s husband arrived home during the altercation and tried to pull the parents off his wife, but failed. Newman said the husband then retrieved a knife from his car and stabbed the other man, then drove away, but police called him to come back.

The man who was stabbed is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries Newman said.

Newman said since the stabber was acting in defense of his family, no criminal charges are being filled at this time.
