Hampton then barricaded himself inside his house by locking and hammering drywall screws into all of the doors, according to the sheriff’s office.
After attempting to contact Hampton, the sheriff’s office special response unit threw a smoke canister through one of the windows in the house, according to the sheriff’s office. Hampton still would not come out of the house, so deputies threw in another canister.
The second canister brought Hampton to the window, and after a brief struggle deputies arrested him according to the sheriff’s office. He is being held in the Laurel County Detention Center.
