Lexington inmate fails to return to jail from court-ordered pass
Lexington police searched Tuesday for an inmate who failed to return to jail after receiving a court-ordered pass.
Daniel Wanye Wafford, Jr., 27, was issued a pass on Sunday and did not return by 8 p.m. Monday to the Fayette County jail, officials said.
Wafford was being held on possession of a controlled substance, failure to appear in court and non-payment of fines. A warrant was issued for Wafford’s arrest and he was charged with second-degree escape.
Officials said Wafford is 5 feet 9 inches tall, 215 pounds; he has brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information of Wafford’s location should contact Lexington Police at 859-258-3600.
