Escaped Lexington inmate arrested, officials say
Richmond police arrested a man who failed to return to the Fayette County jail from a court-ordered pass earlier this week.
Daniel Wayne Wafford, Jr., 27, was arrested in the Red Roof Inn on Bahama Court in Richmond, police said. Police apprehended him on Tuesday, and Wafford was lodged in Fayette County jail on Thursday at 2:14 a.m.
Wafford was given a court-ordered pass from the Fayette County jail on Sunday. He was supposed to return by 8 p.m. on Monday.
He was being held on possession of a controlled substance, failure to appear and non-payment of fines. A new charge of second-degree escape was added.
