State police have arrested two people who were wanted in connection with a Lee County murder.

Jay N. Shoemaker, 39, and Raigan D. Griffin, 22, both of Beattyville, were found and arrested at a home off Rock Lick Road in rural Breathitt County just after 6:30 p.m. Monday, said Trooper Robert Purdy.

They were taken to the Three Forks Regional Detention Center and charged with complicity to commit murder in the death of Billy Roark, who was found fatally shot on the morning of Aug. 5.

State police announced last week that they were looking for Shoemaker and Griffin.

Amy Turner, 31, and Alysia Hensley, 33, both of Beattyville, were also arrested and charged with hindering prosecution.

Roark, 27, was one of two men who state police have said were shot in separate incidents on the night of Aug. 4 in Lee County. Roark’s body, as well as that of the other man, James R. Brown, 36, also of Beattyville, were both found off Hell Creek Road.

Four other people have been charged in the deaths. Wesley T. Johnson, 22, of Irvine, and Kevin F. Kendall, 32, of Beattyville, have been charged with complicity to murder. Anthony T. Taylor, 34, and Kasandra K. White, 23, both of Beattyville, have been charged with murder and complicity to murder, state police have said.
