Police are searching for a Blackburn Correctional Complex inmate who walked away Sunday morning. Louis Dean Stokes, 41, escaped the minimum-security prison in Lexington about 8:15 a.m., according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections.

Stokes was serving a 37-year sentence for convictions in Henderson County for receiving stolen property. Stokes is white, 5’11’’, about 185 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. He would have been eligible for parole in April 2018.

Due to the escape, visitation hours for Sunday were canceled. Anyone with any information concerning Stokes is asked to contact the Kentucky State Police at 502-227-2221 or the Lexington Division of Police at 859-258-3600.
