ATV accident kills teenager, another injured
A 17-year-old boy was killed in London Monday evening after driving an ATV off road.
The teen, who was not identified by the Laurel Sheriff’s office, was riding a Kawasaki ATV on Maple Grove School Road with a 16-year-old female passenger when they “traveled off the roadway in a sharp curve striking an earth embankment and ejecting both,” said Sheriff John Root in a news release.
The boy was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 7:12 p.m. by Laurel County Coroner Doug Bowling.
The female passenger was airlifted to the University of Kentucky’s Chandler Hospital. The extent of her injuries was not disclosed.
