Man dead after crashing vehicle into stone wall
A man died Wednesday afternoon after his vehicle crashed into a stone wall on Iron Works Pike near I-75.
The crash happened about 5:30 p.m., said Sgt. Jeffrey Hyer. No other vehicles were involved in the accident and no one else was in the vehicle. The Collision Reconstruction Unit was called to investigate the accident.
Police believe that the crash occurred after the driver suffered a medical emergency, Hyer said.
According to an eyewitness, it appears the man was driving normally until he abrputly left the roadway, Hyer said.
Hyer declined to share the man’s name.
