Her YouTube videos have been watched 2 billion times. Now she’s coming to UK.
YouTube sensation Jenna Marbles is coming to the University of Kentucky on Oct. 13 for a free discussion about turning social media platforms into a career.
The comedian, vlogger and actress has accumulated 2 billion video views and 17 million subscribers on her YouTube channel as she documents her life with her two dogs, Mr. Marbles and Kermit.
One video shows one of her dogs reviewing soap products. Another shows them eating fruits and vegetables.
“I’m really excited to have the opportunity to bring one of the most famous female YouTubers on the internet to our campus,” said Siera Arena, director of pop culture for the UK Student Activities Board. “Jenna is going to bring many engaging insights on building a brand and a career through social media. She also sets an amazing example for how you can be successful in nontraditional career paths after leaving higher education.”
The 7 p.m. event in Kincaid Auditorium at the Gatton College of Business and Economics is free but requires tickets. In-person ticket pick-up is available now at the Student Involvement box office in Bowman’s Den. UK students may present as many as four valid student IDs to receive no more than four tickets. Online tickets will be available to everyone at Boxoffice.uky.edu starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Direct questions to contact@uksab.org.
