Actress Annie Potts of the CBS sitcom “Young Sheldon,” and the movies “Ghostbusters” and Disney’s “Toy Story” joined a Google Meet reading session for third graders at Lexington’s Christ the King Elementary School recently.

Teacher Kathryn Bedingfield said she had a connection to Potts, the voice of Bo Peep in Toy Story movies , via a family friend. Potts grew up in Franklin, Ky. Potts also portrays the character of ‘Meemaw’ on the CBS television series “Young Sheldon.”

Students across Kentucky are learning virtually from home during the coronavirus school shutdown.

“Fortunately, Ms. Potts agreed to join our Google Meet class session after she learned we were doing a Disney-themed week with a focus on Toy Story,” Bedingfield said of the Thursday session.

“During the call, the students were able to ask questions to learn more about filmmaking and acting. At Christ the King, we strive for high engaging lessons and providing students with a memorable educational experience.,” said Bedingfield.
