Winter storm closes Fayette schools Friday for the second day in a row
All public schools in Fayette County will be closed Friday January 7, 2022, “in anticipation of winter weather and hazardous road conditions,” district officials said.
“Due to hazardous road and sidewalk conditions, as well as forecasts calling for below zero temperatures, all Fayette County Public Schools will be closed on Friday, January 7, 2022” said district spokeswoman Lisa Deffendall said. All afternoon and evening activities are canceled.
Schools were also closed Thursday in Fayette and dozens of other school districts.
