Kentucky student taken to the hospital after having adverse reaction to a vape

A student at East Carter High School was taken by ambulance to Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland Thursday morning after having an adverse reaction to a vape that was brought to school, Carter County district officials said.

The student was being treated for non-life threatening symptoms, officials said.

School administrators and local law enforcement were investigating the incident Thursday while students were being asked to stay in their classrooms.

“The safety of our students is of the utmost importance across the district. We ask that parents and guardians discuss the dangers of vaping with their children,” district officials said.
