Western Kentucky University police have one person in custody after a bomb threat was reported on campus Wednesday, according to university officials.

University officials said the social media threat was unfounded and there is no threat to campus. The threat was posted to social media app Yik Yak and university officials said Yik Yak worked with WKU police to identify a person of interest.

The individual told police the threat was not legitimate and was taken into custody, according to university officials.

The threat was reported just minutes after an all-clear message was sent out for another incident. Earlier Wednesday, a potential explosive device was found on campus at Cherry Hall. Officials with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives determined the material found was construction-related and posed no threat.

Classes were suspended during the first incident but university officials said they will resume at 1:50 p.m.

Cherry Hall, Van Meter Hall, The Commons at Helm Library, Gordon Wilson Hall, College High Hall, the Faculty House and Potter Hall were evacuated during the investigation, according to university officials.
