A Fayette County Public Schools staff member was injured during a district event at Central Bank Center Wednesday and had to be taken to the hospital, said district spokeswoman Dia Davidson-Smith.

Davidson-Smith said she could provide no details on the staff member’s medical condition because of privacy issues.

The injury happened during the Focus Forward Professional Learning Summit.

“FCPS is hosting two days of learning/training seminars for all staff members at 8 hubs around the city. Yesterday, at Central Bank Center, one of our paraeducators fell and received immediate medical attention. They were taken to the hospital for evaluation,” said Davidson-Smith. “Overcrowding was not an issue, we had employees spread out over 8 hub locations across the city.”

Davidson said Central Bank Center is only hosting the teaching staff and other staff members are at additional sites in Lexington.
