Ky. high school’s cheerleading shutdown lifted after investigation
The shutdown of the Rowan County High School cheerleading program while it was under investigation was lifted Friday with no explanation of the allegations.
The investigation and “temporary pause” of the program which began Aug. 21 was “not of a criminal nature” and did not involve wrongdoing by cheerleaders, Rowan County Superintendent Michael Rowe said in a statement.
Rowe said he would meet with administrators and cheer coaches early next week to discuss next steps.
Rowe said he had a commitment to student privacy and confidentiality and was “constrained” in what he could share.
