Madison County Schools, a district adjacent to Fayette County, will have a traditional snow day Thursday, Dec. 5.

That means there will not be any formal non-traditional instruction or at-home learning. In-person classes are canceled.

“We are concerned about the morning weather forecast, which includes extremely cold temperatures, wind, and the possibility of precipitation between 5 and 7 a.m. Please be safe and stay warm!,” a Facebook post from the school district late Wednesday afternoon said.

In Fayette County Public Schools, district spokesperson Dia Davidson-Smith said Wednesday evening, “We are monitoring the weather and plan to do road checks in the early morning.”
