Due to continued frigid temperatures and the potential for additional snow accumulation in the forecast Wednesday night for the Lexington area, Fayette County Public Schools is canceling in-person classes for Thursday, February 20.

It will be the district’s seventh non-traditional, or at-home, instruction day this school year, district spokesperson Dia Davidson-Smith said Wednesday.

Under Kentucky law, school districts are allowed to designate 10 NTI days each school year.

Several other Kentucky school districts, including Clark County, have also canceled in-person classes Thursday.

On Thursday afternoon, Davidson-Smith announced all Fayette County Public Schools after-school and evening activities were canceled for Thursday as well.
