Eastern KY student arrested, accused of making online threats against district
A Floyd County student was taken into Kentucky State Police custody Sunday after police say they were identified as the source of threats against Floyd Central High School and the district.
“Investigators determined that the student had made implicit threatening statements online while using another individual’s name,” district officials announced late Sunday night in a news release.
District officials learned of the threats Sunday.
“Out of an abundance of caution,” there will be increased law enforcement officials at district schools Monday, officials said.
Officials said they would work closely with law enforcement and provide updates to the public, but would not share additional details at this time.
