New head of school named for private Lexington academy. ‘Tremendous blessing’
Lexington Christian Academy has a new head of school.
Jeff Jones, currently a headmaster in Colorado, will take over leadership of the private school July 1, following the retirement of Scott Wells.
Lexington Christian Academy is a private, non-denominational Christian school.
“I’m humbled and honored to join the Lexington Christian Academy community,” Jones said in a news release. “LCA has a rich legacy of academic excellence and spiritual formation, and I look forward to building upon that foundation alongside a deeply committed team. It’s a blessing to be part of a school that boldly equips students to impact the world for Christ.”
Jones is wrapping up his role as headmaster of Ascent Classical Academy in Colorado. Before that, he spent five years as headmaster of the School of Logic at the Geneva School of Boerne in Texas, and 15 years in multiple leadership roles at Pusch Ridge Christian Academy in Tucson, Arizona.
He has a master’s of education degree with honors from Northern Arizona University and a bachelor of arts in speech communication studies from East Stroudsburg University, with additional coursework in English, literature, Latin, and the classics.
A native of the Midwest, Jones previously worked in banking and finance before beginning a Christian education career.
“Throughout his career, Jeff has demonstrated a remarkable ability to build Christ-honoring school cultures, empower faculty and staff, and connect deeply with students and families,” said Brett Setzer, chair of LCA’s Board of Directors. “His blend of spiritual maturity, professional excellence, and relational leadership will be a tremendous blessing to our community.”
