Police investigating ‘inappropriate conduct’ by EKY school staffer toward student
Police are investigating an allegation of “inappropriate conduct’’ by a school employee involving a student in the Hazard Independent Schools’ district, officials said.
“We were made aware of an allegation of inappropriate conduct by an employee with a student in the district,” a district statement said. “The employee has been suspended pending investigation. We are cooperating with law enforcement and will take proactive steps to ensure all students are safe.”
Superintendent Sondra Combs on Friday told the Herald-Leader Kentucky State Police is investigating and could not provide additional information.
Kentucky State Police officials did not immediately comment.
