See results of Kentucky high school marching band state finals
Lexington’s Lafayette High School earned the top score in the state marching band finals on Saturday.
Lafayette earned the highest score in the 5A class and the top overall score of the competition, according to score sheets from the Kentucky Music Educator’s Association. The competition among five classes was held Saturday at Western Kentucky University, with school from across the state performing.
Bands were ranked on music performance, visual performance, general effect, and field and timing. Across the competition, top scorers were also Christian County High School, Larry A. Ryle High School, Beechwood High School and Daviess County High School.
Lexington’s Paul Laurence Dunbar placed third in the 5A class.
