11-year-old charged with terroristic threatening after bomb threat at KY school
An 11-year-old Floyd County student was arrested and charged with first-degree terroristic threatening Monday after a bomb threat at Adams Middle School, district officials said.
After the threat, students were moved to another building next to the school, then were taken by bus to Prestonsburg High School, where they attended a prescheduled program, district officials said in a news release.
The threat was made via text to another student, district officials said.
“All students, regardless of age, need to be reminded of the seriousness of making threats,” district officials said in a statement. “Social media accounts can be traced, and legal action will be taken whenever possible.”
There was no indication that the threat was credible, district officials said.
