Here are the highest-rated schools in Kentucky, based on latest test data

The Kentucky Department of Education uses a color-coded system to rate schools across the state. A 1 through 5 rating is assigned to a school which corresponds with red (the lowest), orange, yellow, green and blue (the highest).

The Kentucky Department of Education on Wednesday released its annual test score data for the 2024-2025 school year.

The state applies an overall indicator score based on several factors, including test scores, school safety, school climate and, for high schools, graduation rate and post-secondary readiness.

These are the top-rated elementary, middle and high school scores in Kentucky.
