Fayette County Public Schools has canceled classes for Monday, Dec. 15, as have several other districts across Kentucky.

FCPS officials made the announcement Sunday evening, citing road conditions and single-digit temperatures.

Monday will mark the third traditional snow day for FCPS for the 2025-2026 school year, including Friday.

Other area school districts that have canceled traditional, in-person instruction Monday include Bourbon County, Letcher County, Berea Independent, Jessamine County, Scott County and Madison County.

Some districts are having non-traditional, or virtual, learning days.

Some parts of Central Kentucky saw up to 4 inches of snow Thursday, and another inch fell Friday morning.

Temperatures plummeted into the single digits overnight Saturday into Sunday, and they’ll do the same Sunday night into Monday.

Weather will warm up Tuesday, with a high near 40 degrees in Lexington.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
