In-person classes canceled in Fayette schools Tuesday, marking 7 days in a row

Fayette County Public Schools will have another snow day on Tuesday, Feb. 3, because of ongoing weather and road conditions.

A decision on afternoon and evening activities for Tuesday is pending, officials said in a Monday statement.

So far this winter, FCPS has used four nontraditional instruction or NTI days — Jan. 26, 27, 28, 29 — and Tuesday will be the sixth snow day. Others include Dec. 2, Dec. 12, Dec. 15, Jan. 30, Feb. 2, and Feb. 3.

In comments made Monday, FCPS officials said ice was compounding issues, making roads and campuses more difficult to clear than snow alone.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
