No afternoon, evening activities Wednesday in Fayette schools

Fayette County Public Schools has canceled afternoon and evening activities for Feb. 4 because of ongoing weather and road conditions.

The cancellations of both school and after-school activities have been constant as Lexington deals with Winter Storm Fern.

FCPS used nontraditional instruction four days in a row at the start of the storm’s impact, from Jan. 26-29. Feb. 2-4 have all been traditional snow days. The city has used seven snow days so far this school year.

Only March 20 has been confirmed as a make-up day for students.

District leaders did not immediately say Wednesday whether in-person classes will be held Thursday.
