Fayette schools cancel in-person classes amid crashes, slippery roads

Fayette County Public Schools canceled in-person classes Tuesday and called a non-traditional instruction day after overnight snowfall led to dangerous road conditions in Lexington.

The district originally called a two-hour delay, citing road conditions and traffic crashes from the winter weather, then changed just before 8 a.m. to an NTI day.

Lexington Catholic High School and several other districts in Central and Eastern Kentucky, including Clark County, also closed Tuesday.

Later Tuesday, district officials announced that FCPS afternoon and evening activities on Tuesday, March 17, were canceled.
