University of Kentucky student suffers severe head injury after being hit by falling limb

A University of Kentucky student was taken to UK Chandler Hospital with a severe head injury from a falling limb Wednesday night.

The student had been attending a class held outside Scovell Hall at about 7:20 p.m. when the limb fell from a nearby tree, according to a statement from UK.

Another student received minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital, according to the statement.

The accident is being investigated by the university, according to the statement.
