Public forums scheduled to talk about privatization of UK dining services
The University of Kentucky will hold two public forums about the possible privatization of its dining services.
The first forum will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Worsham Theater of the Student Center. The second will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. April 18 at the UK Athletics Auditorium in the William T. Young Library.
A task force of UK faculty, staff and students recommended recently that UK issue requests for proposals from private dining companies. As part of that recommendation, the group said any proposal should ensure that any private company would employ current UK employees and students, continue purchasing local foods and expand healthier food options.
More information about the dining recommendations and the process can be found at www.uky.edu/diningrevitalization.
