A small group of Kentucky schools can claim they regularly produce the highest percentage of students who are proficient or better in many of six core subjects.

Those schools include the School for the Creative and Performing Arts at Bluegrass in Fayette County, Anchorage Independent Public School and Greathouse Shryock Traditional in Jefferson County.

Below, see the top 10 and bottom 10 schools in reading, math, science, social studies, writing and language mechanics as measured by the percentage of students who were proficient or distinguished on statewide achievement tests.

You can look up how your schools scored in those subject areas here

Schools can be judged to be high performers even though significant portions of students do not score at high levels on achievement tests. About 100 of the 230 schools labeled high performing or schools of distinction had 50 percent or less of their students score at proficient or distinguished levels in one or more subject areas.-->
