Carolina Panther linebacker Luke Kuechly is among the worst in the NFL when it comes to social media, with an Instagram account that has 140,000 followers and not a single post.

It’s not uncommon for NFL stars to have their names “borrowed” by other people on social media, but Kuechly made a surprising revelation Friday about what seems like a ghost account.

That is me,” Kuechly admitted to the team’s reporter, Caroline Cann.

So why no posts, she asked? Apparently, Kuechly created a password that is so secure, not even he can remember it.

“I forgot .... I don’t even know what the password is any more, so I can’t even log onto it so... I tried to figure it out, but it says they can’t find it. So, I was, like, whatever. It doesn’t matter.”

To be fair, Kuechly has a Twitter account with 349,400 followers, which shows how popular he is with fans.

However, it’s almost as sparse as the Instagram account. His last tweet was a May 14 promo for a charity golf tournament.

Everything else is either a retweet or a reference to one of his commercials for CPI, Campbell’s Soup or Head & Shoulders shampoo.

Kuechly’s lack of concern for social media also seems to be reflected in the fact he’s only following 141 people on Instagram and 167 on Twitter.

He didn’t spell out in the interview with Cann why he’s not into social media, but Kuechly did make clear that there are some things he’s just not going to get worked up about.

Example: The number 59 on his jersey holds no special meaning for him.

“So, 59 was the only number available when I got here,” Kuechly says in the interview.

“Fifty to 58 was covered and they were nice enough not to put me in a 90 number.”
