IHOP giving away free short stacks on National Pancake Day — and ‘pancakes for life’

Flapjack lovers, mark your calendars! National Pancake Day is Feb. 25 and IHOP is having quite the giveaway.

Pop into an IHOP between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on National Pancake Day and you’ll get a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes, the company said in a news release.

To sweeten the deal, the restaurant chain is also giving away more than 250,000 instant win prizes, including pancake-themed bicycles, scooters, bomber jackets and handmade berets, IHOP said.

The ultimate grand prize, however, is a pancake fanatic’s dream: free pancakes for life in the form of $15,000 in gift cards.

Guests age 13 years or older can scan a QR code on the signage at their table which will enter them in the grand prize drawing, the release said. Scanning the code will also tell guests if they’re instant prize winners.

This will be IHOP’s 15th National Pancake Day celebration and the company hopes to raise $4 million for Children’s Miracle Network and local charities such as Shriner’s Hospitals for Children and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

“The communities where IHOP and our franchisees operate is at the core of everything we do, and National Pancake Day serves as a great example of our commitment to helping the kids and families who are our guests, neighbors, friends and family,” communications director Stephanie Peterson said in the release.
