Men armed with a hammer steal dozens of guns, lasers from Bass Pro Shop, TN cops say

As many as 30 guns and ammunition were stolen Tuesday night from a Bass Pro Shops in Tennessee, police say.

Three men used a hammer to break into the store at the Opry Mills Mall in Nashville, according to WTVF

They went to the store’s gun room and took “five to 10 bolt action rifles and 15 to 20 handguns as well as mounted lasers, lights and ammunition,” according to WSET

They weren’t wearing gloves during the robbery, WKRN reported.

The men, between the ages of 17 and 25, reportedly left in a white Hyundai Sonata, according to WKRN.

Bass Pro Shops will conduct inventory to let police know the serial numbers of the stolen weapons, according to the station.

Last month, eight people were arrested after police said they stole guns from Bass Pro Shops in Port St. Lucie, Florida, TCPalm.com reported. A Good Samaritan called 911 to report a U-Haul back into the store, leading to a police pursuit and the arrests.

More than 600 guns bound for Bass Pro Shops were stolen from a UPS facility in 2017 in Missouri, according to the Springfield News-Leader. As of last year, only 73 of the guns had been recovered, the publication reported.
