Single, pregnant and living in a homeless shelter is not the way Jazz intended to spend her summer, but things are looking up for this unwanted mom-to-be.

She not only found love and support at the Saginaw County Animal Care and Control in Michigan, but the staff celebrated her pregnancy this week with a lavish maternity photo shoot that is making headlines.

“We would like to introduce you to ... Jazzy, our beautiful mother to be!” the shelter posted on Facebook. “We await the arrival of an amazing gift — her puppies coming.”

Social media has apparently been smitten by the “hilarious” photos, which racked up nearly 1,000 reactions, shares and comments in the past day. This includes some human mothers who said they recognized the look of discomfort in her eyes. The puppies are due any time, the shelter said.

“She looks so adorable, but in pain. Lots-a babies in there looks like,” Maureen Schmidt wrote on the shelter’s Facebook page.

“I feel Jazzy’s pain. (In a few pictures she looks exhausted),” Indi Mauch posted. “The last few weeks are miserable.”

Shelter officials did not say why Jazz was surrendered to the shelter by her previous owner, but noted it was “for no fault of her own.”

The shelter also noted it’s currently not taking applications for her babies, ”but once the puppies are here and ready for adoption, you’ll be the first to know.”
