Kinsey Rose once again impressed the coaches during Monday’s episode of “The Voice,” and ultimately got to pick whose team she would remain in for the competition.

But the bragging rights from Monday’s battle round went to Girl Named Tom, an Ohio band which performed alongside Rose, a native of Louisville who currently lives in Nashville. They performed Steve Young’s “Seven Bridges Road,” showing off their harmonization from the first note.

Blake Shelton later said Girl Named Tom and Rose “should be singing together all the time.” He then threw a compliment toward Rose.

“In terms of someone winning the show, you’re definitely someone I’d be thinking of if I were Kelly (Clarkson) because you have so much character in your voice,” Shelton said.

Clarkson added, “You’re the type of country singer I love. No one is like you on the show.”

John Legend said their performance is “something people pay lots of money to experience.”

Girl Named Tom and Rose are both a part of Clarkson’s team on “The Voice.” Earlier in the season, Clarkson blocked Shelton from selecting Rose, landing the country singer on her team.

Clarkson chose Girl Named Tom as the winner of the round, but she had the opportunity to use her only save of the round on Rose. The other three coaches could also steal her from Clarkson’s team — and they each attempted to so.

For the first time in the history of “The Voice,” Rose had her pick of all four coaches in the battle round.

“I just wanted to honor how amazing you were to me,” Legend told Rose. “I thought you had the best voice of the group up there and you should not be going home.”

With Clarkson, Shelton, Legend and Ariana Grande available, Rose chose to remain on Team Kelly. It was Clarkson, after all, who picked Rose to use her only block during the blind auditions and only save of the battle rounds.

Clarkson shrieked in excitement as Rose told her the news.

“All the steals in the world could not rip her from my grasp,” Clarkson said. “Kinsey, her tone is like Alison Krauss/Dolly (Parton). This very authentic country sound that I love.”

Shelton said Rose being the recipient of four button pushes in the battle round shows the power of her voice.

Rose, 35, attended duPont Manual High School in Louisville. She said before her blind audition that she packed up her guitar and moved to Nashville with her dog when she graduated from college.

She will be one of 32 artists to compete in the knockout stages later this season.
