Ranch with a ‘vivid spin on Western Style’ lists in Colorado for $12.5M. Take a look

A property that is an architectural ode to old-fashioned ranching has moseyed onto the real estate market in Durango, Colorado for $12.49 million.

Red Bridge Estate, a 5-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom home that sits on 35 acres and is “steeped in history from ancestors of the Ancestral Puebloans,” the listing on Realtor.com says. The compound was named after its charming vermilion shaded bridge over a babbling creek.

“The 19th-century brought ranching and agriculture back along with modern movie making such as the 1969 western classic ‘Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,’” the listing says. “The owners paid tribute to the history of the valley in planning and building of the Red Bridge Ranch Estate.”

The 8,251-square-foot home, which blends indoor and outdoor living, was featured in Luxe Interiors Design, which said the estate “puts a vivid spin on Western Style,” the listing expresses.

The home, which has more than a few terraces to gaze upon the Rocky Mountain landscape, has many modern amenities, according to the listing, including:

  • High vaulted ceilings in the central great room

  • Elevator access

  • Breakfast nook

  • Secluded primary retreat

  • Saloon

  • “16 sets of glass doors and folding walls”

There is also a caretaker’s cottage over the garage and including an outdoor dining and living area.

The exterior attributes of the estate are just as stunning as the home,” listing agent Robb Nelson said according to Mansion Global.

The then-owners of the home told Luxe Interiors Design in 2019 that Durango was still “very much undiscovered” and that it’s “probably one of the last authentic cowboys towns.”
