Four students sent to hospital after consuming ‘foreign substance,’ GA district says
Four high school students were taken to a hospital after they consumed a “foreign substance,” a Georgia district said.
The high schoolers started to feel sick after receiving something from a classmate, according to Atlanta Public Schools.
“The parents/caregivers of those students have been contacted and school administration and Atlanta Public Schools Police are investigating this issue,” the district told McClatchy News in an emailed statement.
Officials said the students were at Carver Early College High School. The campus focuses on preparing students to graduate from high school and move on to college, according to the Atlanta Public Schools website.
While the school district didn’t share more details about the “foreign substance” or the students’ conditions, officials said the high schoolers accused of being involved in this week’s incident “face disciplinary action.”
