A Mercedes-Benz with a James Bond-like license-plate flipper was stolen in California, police said.

A 44-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman were arrested on May 17 in Irvine after a resident reported the “suspicious” vehicle to police, the Irvine Police Department said in a Facebook post.

“The suspect vehicle was something out of (a) 007 movie,” police said.

Along with the license-plate flipper, police also found a gas siphoning device, burglary tools, evidence of identity theft and other stolen property.

The man and woman, of Garden Grove, were arrested on charges of vehicle burglary, vehicle theft, identity theft, possession of stolen property and possession of burglary tools.

“We appreciate the great tip from the resident who called this in and ask the community to continue reporting suspicious activity to our department,” police said.

Irvine is about 40 miles southeast of Los Angeles.

Bond, of course, preferred to drive an Aston Martin.
