Three men seen dumping 62-year-old’s body near open desert, California sheriff says

Authorities are seeking three men who a witness said were seen in El Mirage dumping a body beside a road near the open desert, California officials reported.

A motorist spotted the men on Sheep Creek Road at 3:45 p.m. Pacific time Friday, June 3, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

The driver called 911 and the three men walked away, the release said.

Deputies and emergency crews found the body of Renming Chen, 62, who had been shot, the release said. He could not be revived.

El Mirage is a community of 17,000 people adjacent to the Mojave Desert in Southern California.
