Driver crashes through Starbucks coffee shop in California, injuring two, cops say

People getting coffee at a Starbucks in California were hurt when a car crashed through the shop, police said.

The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office was called to a Starbucks in Cupertino on Thursday, July 7.

“Upon arrival, deputies located a vehicle inside the coffee shop,” officials said in a news release.

Officials from the county fire department and emergency medical services rushed to the Homestead Road location.

Two people inside the shop were injured during the crash, the sheriff’s office said. Officials did not disclose their injuries or conditions.

“The driver of the vehicle was uninjured and is cooperating with traffic investigators,” deputies said. “Anyone with information on this collision is asked to contact the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office at 408-868-6000.”

The sheriff’s office did not say what led to the crash.
