Missing barber has not opened shop for a week, as Michigan family searches for answers
A beloved barber in Michigan has been missing for a week, leading to concern from his family he normally talks to regularly.
David Woodger is the owner of D-Wood’s Barber Shop on the north side of Detroit, but he has not opened his shop since Wednesday, July 20. Loved ones say he was last seen around 1:45 a.m. the following day.
There is no sign of the 46-year-old barber, who family said has not answered or made any calls since July 20.
“We are in agony and in pain because, as you all know, he is well loved in his community and with his family,” his cousin Tyesia Yancey told WDIV. “We need him here with us.”
Yancey said in a Facebook post that Woodger is a father and husband who is “well respected and dearly loved.”
His sister, Nefertiti Morris, said Woodger often speaks to family members daily, according to WXYZ.
“He is loved. He is missed,” Morris told the outlet. “We want people to reach out to us, either to his family, his wife, someone that knows him, so they can help bring him home.”
Anyone with information about Woodger’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Detroit Police Department at 313-596-2221.
