McDonald’s brings back menu item not seen since the 1980s. Here’s when you can get it
McDonald’s newest menu item is a sweet blast from the past — but it won’t stick around for long.
The new cheese Danish, a “fresh take” on a pastry first offered in the 1980s, will debut Wednesday, Sept. 14, at participating restaurants nationwide, the fast food chain announced in a news release. It will be available for order all day long, for a limited time.
The flaky pastry is made with “a sweet cream cheese filling and topped with a buttery streusel and light vanilla drizzle,” according to a product description. Customers can order the treat in-store, in the drive-thru or via the McDonald’s mobile app.
Availability and pricing vary by location.
The cheese Danish joins a variety of baked goods in the McCafe Bakery lineup, which includes:
- Blueberry muffin
- Apple fritter
- Cinnamon roll
