DNA testing identified the remains as those of George Edward Dodge, 36, of Mountain View, Hawaii police said in an Oct. 3 news release.

His body was found July 27 partially buried in a shallow grave beside a remote road in the Ka‘ū District a few weeks after he’d been reported missing, police said.

An autopsy revealed his death was a homicide, although the cause of death remains pending, the release said.
