ATV rider discovers human remains wrapped in tarp in desert, Arizona cops say

A man riding a side-by-side ATV in the desert near Yucca discovered human remains wrapped in a tarp, Arizona sheriff’s officials reported.

The remains, believed to be those of an adult male, were found in a large pile of debris around 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Deputies were unable to identify the remains, the release said. The Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy.

The remains were found near Alamo Road and Boriana Mine Road, officials said.

Yucca is a community of 90 people about 150 miles northwest of Phoenix.
