A 32-year-old woman died in a wild crash that sent two vehicles off a Pacific Palisades highway, crushing her as she sat on a rocky beach, California police told news outlets.

A 21-year-old faces drunken driving charges in the 12:45 a.m. crash Saturday, April 8, along the Pacific Coast Highway near Los Angeles, police told KTTV.

The driver hit three parked vehicles along the highway, knocking two over a cliff onto the beach, police told KTLA.

The vehicles hit the woman who died and two others, a 32-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy, who were hospitalized in stable condition, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The three had visited the beach to admire the moonlight on the ocean, KTLA reported.

Four other people also were injured in the crash, KCBS reported.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, the Los Angeles Times reported. The name of the accused drunken driver was not released.

Pacific Palisades is a community of 24,000 people about 20 miles west of downtown Los Angeles.
