Disneyland’s Splash Mountain officially has a closing date.

Visitors will be able to ride the attraction one last time May 30, the park announced in an April 12 news release.

The ride is closing to make way for a newly reimagined attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

The new attraction will replace Splash Mountain, a log ride that thrived at the parks for nearly three decades, McClatchy News reported. Disney Parks previously announced it would remodel the ride after fans called on the company to do away with any problematic or racist stereotypes coming from the “Song of the South” theme.

Disney announced in June 2020 that the ride’s makeover would be inspired by the film “The Princess and the Frog,” McClatchy News reported.

“Tiana’s Bayou Adventure builds on the story of Princess Tiana, a character whose pride and perseverance reminds us of a universal truth: within us lies the potential to make our dreams come true,” according to Disney Parks.

On the ride at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort, guests will be “digging a little deeper” as they make their way down the bayou, Disney Parks said.

“The enchantment of the bayou will illuminate with a celebration during Mardi Gras season hosted by Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen,” according to the release.

Mama Odie, who will again be voiced by Jenifer Lewis, will crack jokes along the way and “reprise her role as the catalyst to that magic,” Disney Parks said.

The 200-year-old Bayou Fairy Godmother will be joined by friends old and new, according to Disney Parks.

Guests will be serenaded by the sounds of “beautiful zydeco music,” McClatchy News previously reported.

New critter friends will provide the soundtrack for the journey, which will feature “new, original music alongside favorite tunes from the film,” Disney Parks said.

Some of the original cast returning to voice their characters include “Bruno Campos as Prince Naveen, Michael Leon Wooley as Louis, and the one and only Anika Noni Rose as Princess Tiana,” Disney Parks said.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is expected to open at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort in 2024, according to Disney Parks.
